New ‘Sony Xperia Z6 Lite’ Specs, Price, Release Date Rumors Surface
Like every other smartphone manufacturers, Sony‘s next move is quite predictable in 2016. The Sony Xperia Z6 Lite is one of many devices rumored to rock one of the new chips, and the rest of its specs aren’t half bad either. It is expected to be announced sometime in May, along with the other variants in the Z6 series.
Sony’s Xperia Z5 lineup saw a delayed launch in the U.S. This series can only be purchased as global variants without any warranty from e-retailers like Amazon and eBay.
Earlier, the company has launched five smartphones under its Xperia Z6 series and later the figure was decreased to four as per a leaked T-Mobile roadmap.
The rumored addition to the line will supposedly cost around $385.
Some rumors have even put forth the possibility that Sony could hold off on launching the Xperia Z6 line at the Mobile World Congress in lieu of holding their own event to celebrate the release of the new smartphone. This includes a flagship with 5.2-inch display, a petite device called Xperia Z6 Mini with 4-inch display, a 4.6-inch screen clad Xperia Z6 Compact, a 5.8-inch Xperia Z6 Plus and a 6.4-inch display clad Xperia Z6 Ultra. In terms of design, the source that used the device states that Sony has used more metal this time around, which hints at the fact that Xperia lovers could get to see an all-metal Sony Xperia smartphone instead of the Omni-Balance design with sandwiched glass and metal, that now seems to have gotten a bit old. The phone has also been speculated to release with a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 SoC. However, earlier this month, a leaked roadmap of T-Mobile Poland listed four models, eliminating the Xperia Z6 Mini, reports NDTV Gadgets. Aside from that, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor is expected to run. While the first flagship device is said to launch in June, the second is expected to arrive in October. The duo will feature lots of metal work with a crisp brand-new look.
