New Splatoon Maps, Gear Coming Soon
Since launching back in May, Splatoon has become a fan favorite thanks to its fast and fun multiplayer action.
A Splatoon update is rolling out today adding 40 new pieces of gear, according to today’s Nintendo Direct presentation. However, Nintendo also included a decent variety of bandanas for players to wear, which doesn’t exactly scream cold weather ready.
The other map, Mahi-Mahi Resort is a poolside vacationland surrounded by water on all sides. The first, called Museum D’Alfonsio, is set inside a museum, and the stage has five revolving obstacles in the center of the map. There will also be a Mahi-Mahi Resort map with water that flush the area at the halfway point, providing new areas to ink.
Finally, there will be an official Splatoon tournament hosted by the Nintendo Treehouse during December.
New stages, gear, and adjustments will continue to arrive “at least until January”, according to Nintendo.
