New Star Wars Trailer Debuts On Thanksgiving
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” opens in theaters on December 18. One of the most viral Star Wars fan events is an intricately-planned convention – complete with after parties – for fans who happen to be in England next weekend.
A South Korean man dressed in a Darth Vader during the “Star Wars – Force Friday” in Myeongdong shopping district on September 4, 2015 in Seoul, South Korea. Released as the United States celebrated Thanksgiving, it focuses on villain Kylo Ren and gives fans a better look at the dark side of the force. But as a special holiday treat, a full 60 second ad was released on November 26, with the first 30 seconds devoted to Kylo Ren. They assumed it was General Hux but the outfit does not really match. He’s still pretty handy with a blaster, too, as that Stormtrooper is sent hurtling into the ether with a single shot. Like the past teasers, this new one is filled with lots of action sequences from lightsaber battles to air battles.
After all, you wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise that in the new movie it turns out that Chewbacca…oops, almost let something slip there. Eagle eyed viewers have already discovered direct nods to previous films in the flags and artwork that adorn her lair. The environment was the same, snowy and assumed to be Starkle. Does this means Snoke also lacks Sith credentials, and might there be two more hugely powerful dark side Force practitioners out there somewhere?
Again, what had been discussed are mere speculations but are in no way true deductions of what the movie will show. No release dates have been announced for Star Wars: Episode IX or for the third anthology movie.
The trailer begins with what sounds like the voice of Andy Serkis’s Supreme Leader Snoke telling Kylo Ren: “There’s been an awakening”.
