New ‘The Hateful Eight’ Poster Features Kurt Russell and Jennifer Jason Leigh
The next highly anticipated piece of Quentin Tarantino’s career, The Hateful Eight, has a teaser trailer and it’s a beauty. Following the two-week engagement, the film will open with a digital theatrical release nationwide on January 8, 2016, while continuing to be shown in 70mm as well.
The couple graces one of the exclusive new character posters for the snowy epic, set in Wyoming in the decade following the Civil War. A storm soon overtakes their stagecoach on a mountainside stopover, where they meet a handful of risky characters.
You probably know the film’s cast by now – Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins, Demian Bichir, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Channing Tatum, and Zoe Bell – and that Tarantino and cinematographer Robert Richardson shot the movie in 70mm. Bob (Bichir), who’s taking care of Minnie’s while she’s visiting her mother, is holed up with Oswaldo Mobray (Roth), the hangman of Red Rock, cow-puncher Joe Gage (Madsen), and Confederate General Sanford Smithers (Dern).
On this particular stagecoach are a bounty hunter named John Ruth (Kurt Russell) and his fugitive Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh). Is there? We’ll see.
The Hateful Eight, opening Christmas Day, is set “on the edge of the American frontier, sometime after the Civil War”, and follows eight strangers who are stranded together due to a blizzard, only to discover they are mixed up in a deadly plot of deception and betrayal.
Do you think it will have bloody vengeance and a dusting of racial slurs?
