New Titans GM pleads for patience
There are pressing issues to address on both sides of the ball, whether it’s wide receiver help or reinforcements at the cornerback position, but at least the Tennessee Titans found an excellent quarterback in last year’s draft in Marcus Mariota, sticking to their guns despite a lavish trade offer from the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to Paul Kuharsky, new general manager John Robinson is will to entertain trade offers. Robinson brings with him 12 years of experience with the New England Patriots.
New Titans coach Mike Mularkey said he plans to implement a simpler and faster offense this season. He spent two years as Director of Player Personnel with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before returning to his home state.
Robinson, a native of Union City, Tennessee, got the job after Titans interviewed six candidates for the post of General Manager.
Instead, Mularkey talked about a “fresh start” with a Titans team that tumbled to a 3-13 record this season, including a 2-7 mark under Mularkey. “(Mularkey) knows what hard work is. At that time we said the odds felt good that Robiskie was about to leave Atlanta.
Mularkey stressed the Titans would be a different team under his stewardship, beginning with the coaching staff.
Just this morning it was reported that the Tennessee Titans requested permission to interview Falcons wide receiver coach Terry Robiskie. Jason Michael, who held the position last season, will remain on staff as quarterbacks coach.
Defensive coordinator Ray Horton was one of the four candidates to interview for head coach, along with Jaguars assistant head coach Doug Marrone and Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin.
Really? If true, then Underwood as proclaimed spokesperson for Strunk is apparently and sadly out of touch and tone-deaf to what’s really going on outside the doors of Saint Thomas Sports Park.
