New trailer for Noah Baumbach’s Mistress America starring Greta Gerwig
Opening in limited release August 14, Mistress America centers on Tracy (Lola Kirke), a New York based college freshman who calls up her soon to be stepsister Brooke (Greta Gerwig) for a bit of bonding time in the big city.
Greta Gerwig has been expanding her influence on her films for a few years now, adding writer to her credits for several movies since 2008’s Nights And Weekends and also working occasionally as a producer.
IAC’s most recent films have been the Paul Thomas Anderson-directed Inherent Vice, the Noah Baumbach-directed While We’re Young and the Chris Rock-directed Top Five. Scott Rudin is producing with Eli Bush and Evelyn O’Neill. It was about 30 pages, it was a long section, and a lot of things happened and there were new characters. “While we’re actually shooting it I am 100% an actor, and I think that’s the way I work best”. I don’t think it’s possible.
Baumbach and Gerwig have already worked together on Greenberg and Francis Ha and the director and actress have also teamed up to pen the screenplay as they return to the comedy genre.
All we know about Lady Bird comes from Deadline, which says the film will be “the story of a young woman’s last year spent in Sacramento”.
