New TV Spot for Eli Roth’s Knock Knock is at the Door
The words “films less interestingly, more sadistic, and overall intensely forgettable, if not outright disposable” were used to describe the movie. Hopefully, Eli Roth’s upcoming film will perform well in the box office to negate any speculations of him losing his luster in terms of making quality movies.
Lionsgate Premiere and Voltage Pictures have released a new TV spot for Knock Knock, the latest thriller from horror meister Eli Roth (Hostel, The Green Inferno, “Hemlock Grove“). Lacking much of a redeeming objective, “The Green Inferno” leaves you awed at the scale of Roth’s depraved imagination, if not particularly charmed by his meat-cleaver techniques. Perhaps, an honest-to-god creature feature will allow Roth to shake-off the more risible elements of his style and deliver on the promise of Cabin Fever.
Whatever criticism you want to throw at Roth, at least the director stays true to his singular, repulsive vision: His cannibals-gone-wild tale is a work of unrelenting and squishy terror.
The story picks up when a devoted husband and father is left home alone for the weekend and two stranded young women unexpectedly knock on his door for help. The film stars Keanu Reeves, Lorenza Izzo, Ana de Armas and features Aaron Burns, Ignacia Allamand, and Colleen Camp.
“Knock Knock” opens in limited release and On Demand on October 9th.
