New Video Recaps Westworld Season 1 In Under 4 Minutes
Season 2 of Westworld premieres on HBO Sunday at 9 p.m. We discover that William has a real knack for violence when Logan wakes up from an outdoor sleepover to discover that his future brother spent the evening butchering all the host soldiers. Well, now we know what sticks.
HBO screened Season 2’s mesmerizing opener (no spoilers here!) at the AMC Kabuki 8, and Quarterman and Woodward engaged in a short question-and-answer session awkwardly moderated by tech journalist Kara Swisher, who seemed more interested in hearing her own voice than engaging the actors. By “robot”, she referred to her “Westworld” character named Dolores Abernathy, who is an android robot.
Season one of Westworld ended in a cliffhanger, with Dolores and other hosts opening fire of guests at the retirement party of Westworld co-founder and creator Robert Ford (Anthony Hopkins).
‘Why would anyone be afraid of me?’ We’ll find out how Delos plans to take back their theme park and what they plan to do with rebellious hosts. In the bloody rebellion scene at the Delos party, Dolores shoots Ford in the head, though some have speculated that this may be a Ford host clone and not the real man.
The fundamental rule of Westworld is that though guests – holidaying one-percenters able to afford the park’s hefty charges – are permitted gun down the hosts, human visitors can not be harmed. Oh, and in case you were wondering, that trailer consists entirely of footage from the first WEEK of filming, so there’s an bad lot left that we’re yet to see.
Sky TV from £20 a month Even the cheapest £20 a month Sky TV deal comes with Sky Atlantic, the United Kingdom home of lots of HBO content like Westworld season two and the upcoming final season of Game of Thrones.
Westworld was also a big puzzle in itself, with stories taking place across different timelines (many people figured out, for example that William, played by Jimmi Simpson, was a younger version of Harris’ character) and there was a huge mystery about the “maze”.
For Shogun World, they brought out “an entirely Japanese cast, Japanese stunt choreographers”.
Memoirs of a robot geisha.
Of course, at least some of the characters – William and Logan among them – will only feature in flashbacks. Louis Herthum and Talulah Riley have been upped to series regulars. The pace in this season is less likely to be as slow as the first one. Westworld has not done away with flashbacks, mind you, but now the objective is not huge revelations, but to expand the world of Westworld. Except for the Man in Black, who will finally be experiencing his dream of living in fear of imminent and bloody death.
The premiere episode largely sets things up and introduces new characters. They appear as white, almost-humanoid form with no face. But no matter which one you’re viewing, times have changed. “Once you have it, what do you do with it?” says Jonathan Nolan, who created the series with his wife and fellow executive producer, Lisa Joy.
Ye gods, what the hell is that?
One of the most outlandish theories out there is that Delos Destinations theme parks are located on Mars, which would explain how they can take up such vast amounts of space.
Series one began with guests visiting a Wild West theme park populated by robots (known as hosts) where they could drink, kill and have sex without outcome.
Within Westworld are “hosts” which is just a fancy world for robots that look and act exactly like humans.
Go forth and theorise.
This strikes us as the sort of show where, if you don’t see a body, they’re not dead.
Dolores embracing the little black dress. We may or may not find out that whole plan, but we should expect to see the bigger picture start to develop.
