New war on terror: Iraq joins Russian Federation, Iran, Syria against ISIL

Russian Federation has recently ferried weapons, troops and supplies to an airport near the Syrian coastal city of Latakia in what the US sees as preparations for setting up an air base there.
But he will not call a Commons vote unless he is certain to win – and may require Labour support to get a majority because of rebels on his backbenches.
Nevertheless, he emphasized that this is a position that has been devised in coordination with the United States.
“We have been providing assistance to legitimate government entities only”, Putin said, adding that he had personally briefed his Turkish, Saudi and Jordanian counterparts on the plan.
A senior US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told reporters after the meeting: “The Russians certainly understood the importance of there being a political resolution to the conflict in Syria, and there being a process that pursues a political resolution”.
White House officials have repeatedly complained about Russia’s recent military buildup in Syria, a move the Kremlin insists is aimed at defeating ISIS.
