New Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Games Will Be Announced Monthly
Microsoft has just released the list of Xbox One and Xbox 360 Gold games for December, and subscribers are expected to receive four new games for free.
“Thief:” Available from December 16-Jan. In a nutshell, the holiday cheer really reigns over at Xbox Live Games with Gold.
As for the original game, it’s not compatible for the Xbox one, yet, only available, five years and counting since its release, on the Xbox 360.
This time, Xbox Live Gold members who own Xbox One consoles will get the benefit of accessing the free Xbox 360 Gold games via the backwards compatible feature on Xbox One consoles.
Beginning from Tuesday, Dec. 1, Xbox Live Gold members can download “Castlestorm” for free on Xbox One. This is not to be confused with The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut, which is essentially a combination of the three games with some bonus materials as well.
It is all great news for Xbox One owners to hear as games are going to keep on coming, so if you are disappointed with a particular month’s list – there will always be the chance for the said game to come the following month. If you are not familiar with CastleStorm, the Xbox Store describes it as “a super genre mashup of 2D physics destruction mashed with tower defense brawler…It’s Knights vs. Vikings…where medieval warfare meets 2D physics-based destruction!” By Dec. 16, they can start playing the 2014 stealth video game “Thief”. The second half of the month ends off with Sacred 3 and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. The article confirms that in 2016, Xbox One members would be privy to double the amount of games with the introduction of Backward Compatibility.
According to a statement by Microsoft, Xbox Live Gold subscribers have saved over $1,000 with Games with Gold on Xbox One and Xbox 360, in 2015 alone.
