New Year’s Eve 2016 Guide

Each year a breathtaking display of fireworks light up London’s night sky for large crowds who descend on the capital for the turn of the year.

One of the most dazzling parts of the festivities is the firework show set against the dramatic backdrop of Edinburgh Castle. This year’s theme, City of Colour, will drive most of the display but a special launch at 9pm will include butterflies, octopuses, four-leaf clovers and a bouquet of flowers to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the Royal Botanic Gardens and Taronga Zoo.

This New Year’s Eve, plan to come aboard the Spirit of NY for the ideal celebration on the water.

New Year’s Eve fireworks are to be cancelled across the fire-ravaged Great Ocean Road region and could be banned elsewhere across the state, as authorities brace for hot and windy weather on New Year’s Eve.

Enjoy a spectacular fireworks display over the Delaware River in Lambertville.

Tim Macy, senior director of recreation at Port Canaveral, said parks will be open this New Year’s Eve and, “I would say it’s close to full, and the closer you get to the holidays, the number of calls soar”.

For something a little stranger, you can tune into CNN at 8 p.m. ET and watch New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Coopers and Kathy Griffin.

The Manchester City Library’s Winchell room will be the venue for the annual New Year’s Eve children’s party.

Above it All – Mister A’s, the landmark restaurant with a commanding view of downtown San Diego, is offering two New Year’s Eve seatings with a five-course prix fixe menu. Thousands of visitors walk the Vegas strip and enjoy the fireworks show at midnight.

This year it is Black & White with a front lobby New Year’s Eve photo booth, party favors for 21+ and a balloon drop at midnight.

Instead of making a trip to the Big Apple, make the trip south of Denver for Tavern Tech Center’s New year’s in NY.

Starting at 8 p.m. Thursday, there will be live music from soul-funk-reggae-rock trio DT3 and local folk stars Kyle Lindley & Friends. It will be open from 1 p.m.to 9 p.m. That special will air on CBS and begin at 9 p.m. ET on the evening of Tuesday, December 29. Guests will receive hats, noisemakers, beads and more to help ring in the new year.

Spirit Mountain Casino will host a New Year’s Eve Party (remember, it will be one hour earlier than the Nevada casino parties) featuring dance music by DJ Southwest (9 p.m.-2 a.m. AZ) and a total of $2,200 in cash given away in drawings held (11 a.m.-midnight AZ) followed by a final drawing after midnight (approximately 12:15 a.m. AZ).

For those who were unable to get tickets or have no business over there, it may be best to avoid the area after 5 p.m.
