New York City rat tries to take home slice of pizza

The YouTube clip was ostensibly shot in New York City on stairs leading down to the Subway.

As any New Yorker will tell you, rats are often par for the course when riding the subway and they’re usually met with disdain.

The comedian also responded to critics who jokingly called the rat selfish. “You have too far to go and too much carry”.

The rat ultimately did not walk away with dinner, but the little rodent took home something more valuable – our hearts.

The hashtag #PizzaRat quickly began trending on Twitter as users united to admire of the rodent’s dedication to the cheese slice.

The short video has mesmerized the online community.

“He pulled it down a couple of steps before I even started filming”, he ssid.

Here’s just a little of the commentary that has come out of #PizzaRat.

“Every rat has its own plight”, he said.

“We should all aspire to be like Pizza Rat”, another YouTuber writes. There are lots of rats in the city, and there are similarly lots of slices of pizza.
