New York Giants, Eli Manning Refuse to Let Playoffs Get Away
If anything, last night’s 31-24 Monday Night Football win over the Miami Dolphins helped their case.

The New York Giants beat the Miami Dolphins last night to snap a three-game losing streak and stay alive in the mediocre NFC East race, in no small part because of Eli Manning and – guess who? To wit: On the play prior to Beckham’s 84-yarder, Jennings burst up the middle to gain a first down and clear the Giants of their own goal line.
“At the end of the day, we shot ourselves in the foot”, receiver Jarvis Landry said.

Years of frustration culminated on Tuesday when an unusually soft-spoken Dan Campbell admitted that it’s another failed season in Miami. “We’ll see what guys really like football, and find the ones that don’t, and we’ll get them out of here”.
Campbell, who is 4-5 as interim head coach, said he doesn’t think about his future beyond these next three games. With Miami’s loss, New England clinched the AFC East title. Beckham had a monster game himself, with 166 yards on seven receptions with his two scores.
NY tied the score 24-24 on a 6-yard TD pass to Beckham in the right corner. McAdoo could have been satisfied riding Manning’s hot hand (87 percent completion rate), but he mixed in an effective ground attack.
In celebration of their 50th season, Miami honored its greatest players.
“We get a holding, we get a false start, we come out and run it for one”. Meanwhile, the Giants ground game is averaging just 3.6 yards a carry and is the second worst group in the league at scoring touchdowns.
It has become clear that in Beckham, the Giants have the most unsafe and, OK, now best wide receiver in the game. He told them it was time to step up and make plays.
Beckham missed one series when he went to the locker room due to cramps in both calves, but didn’t let that slow him down.
On their first score, the Dolphins took advantage of a blitz by Giants safety Craig Dahl.
After Washington and Philadelphia won on Sunday, Monday’s game for the Giants was a must-win.
“It was a big win also for the fact that it came down to the fourth quarter and we had to make some plays and we had a four-minute drive at the end there where we had to get some first downs to keep the ball and we did that”, Manning said after the game. Taylor handed coverage off to safety Reshad Jones, who jumped Beckham’s inside cut.
Beckham outplayed Landry, his close friend and former LSU teammate.
In the fourth, Beckham struck again with a stellar 84-yard touchdown following some blown coverage by the Dolphins.
Beckham’s final catch, a diving grab on third down at midfield, sealed the victory with less than two minutes left.
The treatments, which Beckham said was the “same juice in the Space Jam that they put in the Space Jam bottle” obviously worked, even if it meant Beckham had to miss a few plays while the IV made its way into his body.
