New York Giants WR Odell Beckham suspended one game

They plan to file an official letter of appeal Tuesday and request a hearing date for Wednesday.

Norman was fined for two specific things: getting a $8,681 fine for a face mask and getting a $17,363 fine for striking to the head/neck area.

There was plenty of pushing, shoving, swinging, wrestling, late hits and trash talking between them. Beckham was suspended one game for the hit, but is appealing the suspension.

Greco suffered a sprained medical collateral ligament on the second play of Sunday’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks. I know one of those plays, I was in Cover 2, I was just jamming the man inside of the play and I got a personal foul called against me.

This “blindside block” was particularly flagrant because Beckham, with a 10-yard running start, had an unobstructed path to his opponent, the position of the opponent was not impacted by any other player, and the contact with the head/neck was avoidable, the NFL’s statement said.

Several media outlets reported Monday that Beckham felt intimidated by the Panthers’ pre-game actions, which included practice squad safety Marcus Ball carrying a bat and getting into a verbal confrontation with Beckham.

“A Giants source told ESPN’s Ian O’Connor Monday that Giants players on the field heard Panthers defensive players direct anti-gay slurs and expletives at Beckham before the game, and the source believes that also helped set the confrontational tone for the game”.

Pending resolution of the appeal, Beckham will be allowed to be at the team facility and practice.

Not surprisingly, the game – a wild, 38-35 Panthers win – deteriorated from there.
