The New York Knicks and the Washington Wizards are playing on the National Basketball Association preseason schedule on Friday and the game starts at 7 pm ET at the Verizon Center and will be on TV from NBATV. This injury should in no way hinder him from being ready for the start of the regular season.

For that matter, it’s hard to know how the Wizards will fare without the late-game brilliance of the departed Pierce, who won them several playoff games that may have otherwise given voice to serious concerns about their postseason readiness.

Carmelo Anthony followed up a 17-point showing against Bauru with a 21 points, four rebounds and four assists.

From there it was Derrick Williams (23 points) and Kyle O’Quinn (14 points and 10 rebounds) who added the punch to pull away. It resulted in an offensive improvement of almost three points per game.

Seraphin played 22 minutes in the sixth man role in the preseason opener. The talent is clearly there, and Beal can still become one of the league’s best shooting guards with the ability to score in various ways.

The game was back and forth throughout much of the night, as the two East coast teams battled each other not just with their stars, but with all sorts of players.
