New York students die in upstate plane crash
The deceased were students of Colgate University in Hamilton, Madison County, 257 miles northwest of New York City. One of the students was a 2015 graduate of St. Luke’s School in New Canaan.
Officials have released more information about the plane crash that took the lives of two Colgate students Sunday.
Davis said the school will share news about services with the community as soon as possible.
“It pains me, once again, to bring you bad news”. His sister Kelly is now a junior at St. Luke’s. He was also a STEM diploma recipient.
They were the only passengers on board, and it was not clear which victim was piloting the plane.
The aircraft, a Cessna 150, crashed in Morrisville, a rural area in Madison County, Sunday afternoon. “The crash was confirmed by the first responding deputies and fire department personnel”.
Update (2:15 p.m.): The wreckage of a small plane has been located in the area of Old Country road and Stone Bridge Road, dispatchers said.
Federal investigators are arriving this morning to investigate the fatal crash of a plane in Madison County. According to FoxCT, the deceased were both freshmen and enrolled at Colgate University.
