Newcastle United to make bid for Pierre-Michel Lasogga?
Having lost his place in the starting line-up to Newcastle United new boy Aleksandar Mitrovic, the Daily Star have reported that the club’s out-of-sorts striker Papiss Cisse is ready to quit the club – admitting that his future is still undecided.
The 30-year-old was valued at around £6 million – according to the aforementioned source – which is a fee that the Turkish giants were not prepared to pay.
The Magpies have made it clear they do not want to sell Cisse during the summer transfer window.
It now leaves the Senegal global at St. James’ Park where he’s now likely to stay at the club with no other real interest shown in his talents just yet.
Many believe that the arrival of Lasogga will mark the end of Papiss Cisse’ time on Tyneside, despite the player tweeting today that he is still in the North East and enjoying his bank holiday.
“Seriously, I don’t know, I don’t like to speak about it – sorry guys.”
“I always want to play”, added Cisse. I work very hard on the training pitch but I don’t know if I’ve done something wrong.
The frontman penned a five-year deal with Hamburg when he signed from Bundesliga rivals Hertha Berlin last summer, but has struggled for regular first-team football since. If the manager gives me the chance to play, I will play.
“It’s one of those things, the fans react to performances and if we show the right attitude and work hard, then they react to that and they did”. It’s been hard, we’ve had two sending-offs early doors and you cancel those games out really in terms of looking at the progress of the team.
