Newton stars as Panthers pack off Packers; Colts, Patriots win
Dobs said this week that security was so tight Sunday that he had to open his banner for examination multiple times at various security points before being allowed to bring it into the stands. Paul says this was “with the understanding that no banners of flags expressing support of visiting teams may be affixed to or displayed in any surface”.
The policy is being reviewed to ensure it is clear and serves the best best interest of the organization.
Dobs said he and his group brought the banner so his grandchildren back in Fayetteville would see them on TV.
Dobs said they were later told the banner had been destroyed.
“It’s not about money”.
“I was just shocked, shocked”, when Newton grabbed the banner out of Mike Dobs’s and his family’s hands, Dobs said on Sunday evening. The Carolina Panthers have a high-powered offense and a dominating defense – to say nothing of an undefeated record.
An unexpected act of kindness from Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is going viral.
Well, Newton chased after it, and ended up giving the ball to Panthers fan Colin Toler, a 6-year-old who recently lost his father. “I would have liked it if he would have signed the banner that they sent”. It’s just more of a respect to the stadium. “We may even get fans to sign it”.
“It was a Green Bay banner in Bank of America Stadium…just doesn’t match”.
At least one group of Panthers fans – called the 652 Gang – is supporting Dobs’ claim that the 8- by-3-foot banner needs to be replaced, though it is stopping short of criticizing Newton for the incident. The tickets alone cost the family $3,700, he added. Is this stupid and macho “we must protect this house” stuff?
Six-year-old Colin Toler attended Sunday’s game between Carolina and the Green Bay Packers more than a month after his father, Ben Toler, had died.
Of course we have a big target on our chest and on our backs and everybody wants to be the team that beats the Carolina Panthers.
Having the ball deep in their own territory, but could turn to one of the best rushing attacks in the National Football League to run down the clock.
Dobs said the Green Bay banner is normally hung inside his “man cave” at home.
