Neymar makes Barcelona case to Gabriel Jesus
Neymar will lead a young Brazil team on home soil at the Olympic games next month and so has enjoyed close contact with Gabriel over the last few days. I am well aware what my duties are the next day.
Neymar was part of the side that won silver at the 2012 tournament in London and said: “I am not anxious about losing”.
Neymar, who will represent Brazil at the 2016 Olympic Games, has said that he will always welcome questions about his form on the field, but wants his “private life left private”.
Neymar has challenged journalists to stop talking about his social life, and judge him exclusively for his on-pitch exploits. But asked by reporters if such a lifestyle could get in the way of helping Brazil secure their first-ever gold medal in men’s soccer, the 24-year-old said his play speaks for itself. I have no problem talking about cards or sendings-off, but I have a private life.
“It is already clear that I will stay until the end of the year”.
“But I have my private life, I am a kid of 24 years of age, still young, I have achieved things and I am not anxious about it”.
“I think you have to start by looking at what I do on the pitch”, the 24-year-old Barcelona star told a news conference on Tuesday.
“As young players we only have memories of the class of 2000 playing in Sydney”.
But he said: “You have to look at the things that I do on the pitch”. Of course we depend (on Messi). If we lose, we lose with our heads high and we carry on, but if it is up to me we’re going to do everything possible to win. “I want to bring that gold medal for Brazil that has been so hard”. “Not only with him, but also told other players how it feels to play for Barcelona and to live in the city”, the Brazilian is quoted as saying by Goal.com. “We rely on the best players”.
