Neymar to stay for life – Fernandez
“The worldwide break will be good for Neymar”, Luis Enrique said before Barca’s 2-1 defeat at Sevilla on Saturday.
Barcelona forward Neymar will spend the rest of his life with the Catalans according to club technical director Roberto Fernandez.
Neymar, who scored 43 goals in all competitions as Barcelona won a La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League treble last season, recently admitted he held talks with United over the summer.
“I have no doubt that Neymar will spend his entire life at Barcelona”.
The 23-year-old Brazilian has been linked with a move to Old Trafford since the summer and this source claims that the Barcelona star would consider a move to the Premier League side.
The reigning La Liga champions have been mindful of Neymar’s ever growing influence at the club, especially in the wake of Lionel Messi’s two month knee injury.
Barcelona know they must be patient and not bring Messi back before he has fully recovered.
Both Turan and Vidal will be eligible from the start of 2016, but Fernandez has said that more new players could arrive. “It’s part of the game”. “Therefore, I think that with Brazil it is easier and our need today causes us to have more patience with him”.
The punishment was handed down after the club breached rules regarding the signings of underage players. The Brazilian superstar was linked with Manchester City, Chelsea and even West Ham United before moving to Barcelona in the summer of 2013. “Until January there’s time to look at many things and we have an obligation to do so”, Mundo Deportivo quotes Fernandez as saying.
Spanish forward Nolito appears one possibility, with Fernandez endorsing the 28-year-old Andalusian’s ability.
