NFL’s Vikings-Seahawks Playoff Game Will Be One Of Coldest Ever
Barring another home game for the Vikings in this year’s playoffs, Sunday will be the final game the team plays outdoors at TCF Bank Stadium.
Adrian Peterson won the National Football League rushing title at age 30 this season and has made it clear he believes he’s the best running back in the NFL. Unlike the regular season, players typically don’t miss practice just days before a playoff game for “maintenance” reasons unless they are dealing with an actual injury. Fantasy Tips: Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett had season-high seven catches vs. Vikings on December 6 for 90 yards, his second most of season, and also had 47-yard kickoff return. The eight carries were Peterson’s fewest in a game this season, and the 18 yards were the third fewest in Peterson’s nine-year career. Temperatures are projected to reach a HIGH of 1 degree on Sunday, according to ESPN.com, when the Vikings host the Seattle Seahawks at the Vikings’ temporary home at the University of Minnesota. “We’re going to go out and just do our thing”, Seattle offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said. So the odds and experience are ever in Seattle’s favour, but can the mighty vikings and Adrian Peterson destroy the Seahawks’ wildcard winning streak? LINE: Seahawks -5. O/U: 39.5ABOUT THE SEAHAWKS (10-6): Quarterback Russell Wilson has been brilliant during Seattle’s 6-1 run with 24 touchdown passes and only one interception, and he burned the Vikings by throwing for 274 yards and three scores while rushing for 51 yards. The Panthers stunned everyone and beat the Seahawks in Seattle back in Week 6.
“Most of those players are in great physical condition, great cardiovascular systems, so they’ll probably be at a little bit less risk than the general population”, he said. Peterson had carried the ball five times for 10 yards in the first half.
“The wind affects things more than anything does”, Zimmer said, via the Pioneer Press.
“That’s not the way we played all year”, he said. Anyone who follows the Seahawks knows that this season has been far from smooth, especially on the injury front.
If that holds true, the question will no longer be whether or not this is the coldest game in the history of TCF Bank Stadium, but is it the coldest game in the history of the Minnesota Vikings? “They’ll give him the ball more”. Do I think Seattle will ultimately win this game?
“They’re just a really good football team and you better play good on the day you play them or they’re going to get you”, Carroll added. “I don’t know that it could be like that, it’s going to be much different than that, I think”. And when you’re playing in weather that is well below freezing, sometimes you can throw the stat sheet right out the igloo.
