NFL Week 11 Fantasy Recap: Washington Redskins at Carolina Panthers, Cam

The Carolina Panthers (10-0) are coming off a 44-16 win against the Washington Redskins in Week 11, and as a result, Cam Newton and company are one of the two remaining undefeated teams in the NFL.

There were certainly more factors that caused the Washington Redskins to fall to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday by a final score of 44-16 – fumbles and five passing touchdowns surrendered among them – but the most controversial moment of the game was a turning point away from the away team. With the Dallas Cowboys next in line on a short week, two games against the Atlanta Falcons, and tough matchup against the NY Giants on the road, the Panthers will have to prove they can continue to put up a high volume of points if they plan on closing out the season at 16-0. Six of those teams won the Super Bowl. Newton carved up the defense, and Carolina’s defense held Washington’s running game to 14 yards.

“Between the fumbles and the picks, we had a couple short fields”.

“We have to get better, I can tell you that”. They pretty much beat us in all phases.

“I don’t know if it’s about the name or what…don’t single us out”.

Benwikere’s strip and sack of Cousins on the first play from scrimmage in the third quarter led Newton’s fifth touchdown pass. I’m sure that the officials don’t care about this and are doing their best to call the games evenly, but if it’s getting in your players’ heads, then maybe it’s a sign that something should change.

That call turned the momentum of the game.

Meanwhile, Colts quarterback Matt Hasselbeck completed 23 of 32 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns.

Washington receiver Andre Roberts, who returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter, said the turnovers hurt.

Langford scored on a 2-yard run with 24 seconds left to cap a 65-yard drive.

The Redskins (4-6) have yet to win back-to-back games this season.

Jonathan Stewart topped 100 yards for only the second time this season. He’s at 3,925 yards as a Panther.

Funchess entered Sunday with just 12 catches for 202 yards on 28 targets in 2015. Jason Witten and Terrance Williams have combined for 924 receiving yards and five touchdowns while Cole Beasley has 33 receptions. Kuechly is second on the team in tackles with 68 despite playing in just seven games this season. He had four in the first half against Washington.

Tony Romo warmed up for his meeting Thursday against unbeaten Carolina with a 24-14 win over an inconsistent Dolphins’ team.

He did show a little rust, throwing two interceptions and chided Dez Bryant on a missed connection.

I’d be more inclined to believe someone like Greg Hardy or Michael Vick if they said that their past influenced a ref’s bias against them but saying the “Redskins” name is costing you calls? Newton threw for five touchdowns and 246 yards, with a quarterback rating of 123.3 before being pulled midway through the fourth quarter. More importantly I like how he went after the football. Panthers DE Kony Early has at least one sack in four games in a row….

Quarterback Kirk Cousins overthrew a wide open DeSean Jackson, abruptly ending Washington’s first offensive drive with an interception.

Together, the Panthers have built a fearsome team on both ends of the ball – a top-10 offense and top-five defense that’s yet to lose. He tied Matthew Stafford’s rookie mark in the third quarter with an 8-yard toss to Cameron Brate.
