NFL Week 11 Odds: Vikings host reeling Packers in pick’em matchup

There’s more concern about his offensive line and his receivers than there is about Aaron Rodgers’ right shoulder heading into this Sunday’s game at the Minnesota Vikings.

“He’s banged up”, head coach Mike McCarthy admitted to reporters before practice.

“Mike Zimmer has been at the trend level, he’s been starting a trend across the league since Cincinnati with his seven- and eight-(man) pressures, bringing different combinations”, Rodgers said. “You get a routine, you learn how to take care of your body, and you push through it”.

And if you’re looking for any sort of bright spot, it’s that the Vikings are 1-9-1 against the Packers since Brett Favre’s first year quarterbacking the team, which was 2009.

“I don’t think the player has anything to gain by putting his injuries out there publicly”, McCarthy said. Meanwhile, the complete opposite is true for the Vikings as they’re playing their best football of the year. We have to sustain drives better…. While Montgomery appeared to be ready to play on Wednesday, his status is now in doubt for Sunday.

Rounding out the division are the Chicago Bears in third and the Detroit Lions in last place. Likewise, Eddie Lacy was also a full participant, suggesting that the team will have a full complement of running backs this weekend.

While McCarthy has said he won’t take the reins against Zimmer’s Vikings, that might be another factor in the Packers’ not being able to bring the conference title back to Lambeau. “I wouldn’t say it was a setback”, the rookie said.

If Rodgers has to throw 45 times on the road, it’s not likely to go well against a talented pass rush and ball-hawking secondary.

Andrew Luck struggled for several weeks, missed practices with a shoulder issue, and all the while the Colts remained mum on the issue.

Receiver Jared Abbrederis had a breakout game with four catches for 57 yards against Detroit, but hurt his ribs on a 32-yard reception in the fourth quarter.

“I’m going to be out to do whatever I can for this team”, Lacy said.
