NH mother charged in 21-month-old’s death
A Manchester, New Hampshire mother has been charged with murder in the death of her toddler daughter.
Police were called to a house on Belmont Street back on September 5 for a child who was found unresponsive.
Willott suffered a fatal brain injury caused by physical force, authorities say. Sadence was treated locally at Elliott Hospital, and then med-flighted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, where she died the following day.
A New Hampshire medical examiner ruled the girl’s manner of death a homicide, with the cause of death as blunt impact head injuries.
Benjamin Agati, senior assistant attorney general, said the child’s death was “not an accident, not by any means”. She faces second-degree murder charges.
He would not elaborate, ahead of Paquette’s arraignment on Monday in Manchester district court. Investigators interviewed doctors and witnesses, Agati said, and a judge granted a warrant for Paquette’s arrest.
Her mother, 22-year-old Kaitlin Paquette, was arrested three weeks later.
