Nice Nan: Grandma is so gracious in Google search
John told the BBC that he frequently uses his grandmother’s washing machine because he doesn’t have his own.
“I just thought it was so cute and a typical thing for her to do”.
Meanwhile, how did Ben and his grandmother celebrate her new Internet celebrity?
Tapping away on Google himself, he noticed her search history and couldn’t resist taking a picture.
Ben John and his boyfriend regularly stop by Nan’s to do their laundry – and probably score some cookies and compliments. The numerals are often used on television show credits to show the year a programme was made.
“I thought, well somebody’s put it in, so you’re thanking them”, she told the radio network.
Mr John’s tweet has since been retweeted about 10,000 times and attracted about 15,000 favourites.
So much so, that she got a reply from the big dog, Google, itself. “She goes to a silver surfers’ club at the local library to learn about computers and the internet, but she hardly ever uses her laptop”.
After the tweet garnered a lot of attention, Google responded by saying, “Dearest Ben’s Nan”. ‘Hope you’re well. In a world of billions of searches, yours made us smile.
In response to the tweet, it seems people have already started to learn manners. “I can’t”, he said on social media.
