Nicholas Hoult Mixes Music and Murder in ‘Kill Your Friends’ Trailer
Kill Your Friends is out in the UK on November 6.
The first teaser trailer for Kill Your Friends, based on the cult novel by John Niven, has dropped and Nicholas is smoking, snorting, sleeping, and strangling his way to the top of the music industry. But beware, the trailer is a little NSFW with some brief glimpses of nudity and also F-bombs.
Nicholas Hoult plays Steven Stelfox, a young but sinister A&R man who tramples the globe looking for the next big act, leaving in his wake a trail of destruction. With Black Mirror director Owen Harris behind the camera, the movie promises some dark British weirdness-plus, we can only assume, a banging soundtrack for those who miss the days when bands like Cornershop were worth killing your friends over. Created by an industry that demands success at any price, as the hits dry up and the industry begins to change, Stelfox takes the concept of “killer tunes” to a murderous new level in a desperate attempt to salvage his career.
The first trailer for Britpop thriller Kill Your Friends has been released.
The film has been already exclaimed with great praise from the president of Well Go, the production company behind Kill Your Freinds, Doris Pfardrescher exclaimed: “If you loved music in the 90s, and you liked “The Player, ‘ ‘Swimming with Sharks” and ‘American Psycho, ‘ it still doesn’t come close to describing how savagely brilliant this movie is”. And also along for the ride are James Corden, Austenland’s Georgia King, Da Vinci’s Demons’ Tom Riley, Deadpool’s Ed Skrein, Submarine’s Craig Roberts, Half Of A Yellow Sun’s Joseph Mawle and Bunny & The Bull’s Edward Hogg. A time and place populated by frauds, charlatans and bluffers; where ambition is a higher currency than talent, and where it seems anything can be achieved – as long as you want it badly enough.
