Nick Grimshaw jokes SImon Cowell and David Walliams friendship is over

And but the sounds of it, the music mogul is equally as impassioned about his new recruit with reports suggesting the X Factor show runner is over the moon with the TV presenter.

Simon is said to like the fact Nick makes the atmosphere light-hearted at the auditions and it has helped with the fact he initially regretted axing former judge Louis Walsh.

Which we reckon is something the majority of us will end up agreeing with, tbh.

The fellow X Factor judges have reportedly hit it off during filming for the upcoming series of the ITV show.

Simon Cowell’s bromance with David Walliams looks like it could be over.

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini confirmed that Nick and Simon have grown über close over the last few weeks, telling the Daily Star Sunday, “Nick and Simon are the new David and Simon”.

Eek, we have a feeling Dave won’t be too happy to hear that…

Nick then echoed Cheryl’s comments, sticking the knife in for poor David by adding: ‘Me and Simon love each other.

‘I think we’ve upped it to a new level this week because we wound Cheryl up something rotten. “David is out and I’m in”, he said.

He went on to reveal that he and Simon have bonded over their mutual glee at taking the Mickey out of Cheryl, and of playing pranks on her. And apparently, she’s “easy to wind up”, which will only add to their joy at irritating her.

You can’t control Simon.

While many doubted how Rita Ora and Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw would work on the X Factor judging panel, it seems they’re more than a match for it.

However, given that he also admitted, “I’m getting three hours’ sleep a night”, we can’t help but wonder how long it will be before the novelty wears off…
