Nick Saban is taking Charleston Southern very seriously
Former St. Peter’s Prep (Jersey city, N.J.) cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick is unlikely to suit up Saturday when the Alabama Crimson Tide take on Charleston Southern, according to head coach Nick Saban. The best part came when he reminded everyone that the Tide was expected to crush Georgia Southern back in 2011, and the game ended up being much closer than anyone expected (Bama won 45-21, but it was a 10-point game in the third quarter). “This is a good team that we’re playing, and hopefully our players will have the kind of respect they need to go out and play good, positive, winning football”. Could not stop them. That’s like 30 yards a game.
“I think we’d given up like 300 yards rushing the whole season in 10 games”. And all anybody wanted to talk about was how dominant the front was and how nobody could run against us. Henry (1,458 yards, 19 TDs) ranks second nationally in rushing yards after going over 200 in three of the past four games.
Whether it’s Nick Saban, Julio Jones or even Bama broadcaster Eli Gold, fans want to snap a picture to immortalize the moment with a few of the Capstone’s most immortal figures in a storied history.
Then, realizing how animated he had gotten, Saban made a quick joke on his way out of the press room.
