Nick Young Hit Anthony Tolliver With a Forearm to the Throat
The Los Angeles Lakers never led in Sunday’s loss to the Detroit Pistons, the second consecutive game that has occurred.
After a night where Nick Young shoved Anthony Tolliver after a hard foul, Young will not be punished by the National Basketball Association according to the Los Angeles Times’ Mike Bresnahan.
Early in the season, it looked as if Nick Young had finally turned it around. That said, he he was asked about it after the game, Young wasn’t exactly apologetic, and it’s clear the reaction wasn’t to the foul as much as his season-long struggles, overall.
Young was then assessed a flagrant foul 2, but he said he didn’t think he’d be suspended for Monday’s game against the Raptors in Toronto. However, Pistons forward Anthony Tolliver turned on the jets to intercept Young at the basket, where he fouled him as he was going for the dunk.
Lakers head coach Byron Scott tried to reiterate Sunday that Young hasn’t been benched for disciplinary reasons, insisting that he’s just “trying something new”. The Hawks have been showing inconsistent scoring from Kent Bazemore, among others, so adding a player who loves to shoot and go on a roll could work to their advantage.
Nick Young on his push, ejection: “It’s tough, man. There’s a lot of frustration…and it’s building up”.
But Scott said he’s sure frustration played a role.
