Nicki Minaj’s MTV VMA snub argument is redundant, says Ed Sheeran
First it was Miley Cyrus’ tongue and her provocative performance with Robin Thicke at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA).
“I think everyone knows that Taylor has done nothing wrong in that situation”, he said.
Ed’s nominated for another three awards while Ronson’s Uptown Funk also landed a Best Direction nod. “She just made some good videos and people think they’re good”, he said.
Sheeran went on to say that Minaj’s claim that you have to “celebrate women with very slim bodies” in order to receive a Video of the Year nomination didn’t make sense as Beyonce was included in the category.
Minaj began the conversation “When the “other” girls drop a video that breaks records and impacts culture they get that nomination”, a tweet that Taylor Swift deemed to be about her. Swift replied: “I’ve done nothing but love & support you”.
With no word from Sheeran, Mars jokingly taunted him further: “SHOW YOURSELF” he wrote alongside an image of their heads photoshopped onto a WWE Smack Down poster.
Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran have staged a fake Twitter spat.
Without naming any pop star in particular, but offering up plenty of clues, Perry called the “pit women against other women” argument ironic coming from someone who allegedly capitalizes on “the [takedown] of a woman”.
Rising to the bait, Ed respond with a rather low blow at his 5ft5 component, writing “Any way we do dis you gon’ come up short”. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. “How dare u!” LOL. The “When I Was Your Man” singer told the British acoustic star that his statement “cut deep”. U always know how to sheer me to the core.
Mars shot back with a clever pun (“I can’t believe we’re Sheeran this in public”) which prompted an interesting attempt at out-rhyming by his opponent.
