Nicki Minaj Slams Miley Cyrus Again!
Six weeks after asking “Miley, what’s good?” on the Video Music Awards stage, Nicki Minaj expounded on the deep-seated hypocrisy she sees in Miley Cyrus telling The New York Times that she can’t respect Minaj pointing out how black women are rarely rewarded in pop culture because the rapper was “not very polite” about it.
When Drake and Meek Mill had a major beef this summer, Nicki Minaj was pretty quiet.
Banks tweeted Wednesday: “I wish Nic would stop trying to turn this Miley thing into a race issue cuz she was mute about cultural approp. until she became ‘victim.’ Plus how u gonna complain about a video with skinny women when ur body is enhanced…”
She said, “The fact that you feel upset about me speaking on something that affects black women makes me feel like you have a few big balls”.
While Minaj has yet to comment in the incident, Vanessa has said there wasn’t any malice behind her questions, and that Nick had every right to call her out. Taylor Swift initially interpreted Minaj’s comments as a personal attack and accused Minaj of pinning women against each other. Naturally, the two performed together at the VMAs.
“To put down a woman for something that men do, as if they’re children and I’m responsible, has nothing to do with you asking stupid questions, because you know that’s not just a stupid question”, Minaj told Grigoriadis.
She noted that they are grown men and the beef is ridiculous. Asked whether she “thrives on the drama”, Minaj pointed her attention toward a different person – the interviewer. Of somehow taking responsibility when they behave badly, which is insulting to both men and women.
Understandably, Minaj found the inference that this might be fun for her “disrespectful”.
Nicki Minaj have close relationship with both men so it’s inevitable that fans and the media are curious about her stand on the matter.
At the VMAs, Minaj delivered the “what’s good” call-out heard round the world to a stunned Cyrus.
“Do not speak to me like I’m stupid or beneath you in any way” Minaj declared, before ending the interview on her terms like the boss she is. “Can we move on, do you have anything else to ask?” she continued.
One tip, advanced by Blind Gossip, postulated that MTV producers wanted Minaj to call someone a b–, either Swift or Cyrus, and when Swift wouldn’t agree to the bit, Cyrus became the fall girl.
