Nicole Kidman Reveals She Keeps In Touch With Her Kids Through Text
“I’ve four kids, so to remain in touch with them is essential”, Kidman says, also referring to her two daughters with Keith Urban, 7-year old Sunday Rose and 4-year old Faith Margaret. “We started like that and we haven’t changed it”, she said. They were also surprisingly absent at the funeral of their grandfather, Antony Kidman, in Sydney a year ago.
The 48-year-old actress, who is now starring in the West End production “Photograph 51” in London, never sends him text messages or emails when they’re apart because she prefers talking to him on the phone, reported Female First. “We never do! Once in a blue moon, we will text”. When pressed by The Hollywood Reporter in 2012, she explained, “I’ve chosen not to speak publicly about Scientology. I’ve two kids that are Scientologists – Connor and Isabella – and I completely respect their beliefs”. “So it’s about trying to keep it as intimate and personal as possible”, the star told the magazine. “For every single night he’s away, he leaves me a love letter”, she told InStyle about his busy touring schedule.
According to Nicole Kidman and insider from CelebrityInsider.org, the Internet and technology are crucial when it comes to staying in touch with all her children including Isabella, 22, and Connor, 20.
“They live with Tom, which was their choice”, Kidman told Hello! magazine in 2010. “I’d love them to live with us, but what can you do?” the actress said of the duo in a May 2014 interview with Women’s Weekly. I know that me and mum are solid. We do not email each other, either. My family means everything.
“I have an incredible husband who is so willing to get on planes and fly places even if it is for a night!” she admitted.
Although it is clear that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban talk to each other instead of sending each other emojis through texting, the actress does admit that she may have to use technology to communicate with her children. “But mainly we say, ‘I want to hear your voice, ‘” Nicole added.
