Nicole Lovell, Virginia girl who vanished, was stabbed to death, authorities say
Each new detail raises new questions.
Tammy Weeks came to the door at her apartment in Blacksburg, a few miles from Virginia Tech, on Tuesday morning.
Two Virginia Tech students have been arraigned in connection to the murder of 13-year-old Nicole Lovell. Nicole Madison Lovell was an energetic 13-year-old who bore emotional and physical wounds, suffering from bullying over the scars from her liver transplant. She was found in North Carolina on Saturday, and the police arrested Eisenhauer that day and Keepers on Sunday.
We’ve also learned, Lovell’s preliminary cause of death is stabbing, Pettitt said.
Kik, along with Instagram and Snapchat, are particularly popular with younger teens, and it’s impossible to keep underage users from signing up.
Now Vance has been touched once again by the disappearance and death of one of her students. A spokesman for Kik Interactive said the Ontario, Canada-based company was “active in helping the FBI carry out their investigation”, spokesman Rod McLeod said.
In another development, Pettitt said another promising engineering major at Virginia Tech, Natalie Keepers, will face an additional and more serious charge. The 19-year-old had already been charged with concealing a body and being an accessory to murder after the fact.
“Her favorite color was blue”.
“Nicole was a very lovable person”, Weeks said. She became choked up and had to step away from the podium before she could finish reading a statement.
Instead, Weeks spoke of a girl who survived a liver transplant and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and dreamed of being on the television show “American Idol”.
Nicole’s classmates were grieving Monday at Blacksburg Middle School, where 10 counselors were brought in to support them, Montgomery County schools spokeswoman Brenda Drake said.
Eisenhauer was arrested early Saturday at his dorm at Virginia Tech and charged with abduction and first-degree murder.
The arrests of the two ambitious and focused students shocked people who knew them in Maryland, where they attended nearby high schools.
Police would not say how Eisenhauer and Lovell knew each other.
The principals at the Maryland high schools describe the former students as involved in extracurricular activities and focused on academics.
“It’s just very, very surprising”, said the school’s principal, Marcia Leonard.
Abby Workmeister lives in the same dormitory as Eisenhauer – Ambler Johnston Hall, the co-ed residence hall where the first two people were killed in the 2007 campus massacre that left 32 dead.
“But this is not going to define us”, Wilson said.
She announced a new charge against one of the suspects. Some, including the head of a university robotic sailing group that Keepers belonged to, said they’d been told not to speak to reporters.
This story has been corrected to show that the name of the student who lives in the same dormitory as Eisenhauer is Abbey Workmeister, not Abby.
