Nicolle Wallace Nixes Offer to Appear Sporadically on ‘The View’
Nicolle Wallace announced that she will be signing off from the morning talk show at the end of the season.
‘I love you to death, and I think what you say about politics is so spot-on because it’s true, and it’s not just your truth, it’s true for a lot of people in your generation, ‘ Wallace gushed.
Nicolle Wallace will not be returning to The Viewin any capacity after turning down an offer to appear as an occasional contributor on the show, Variety reports. “I can’t tell you; I don’t know”.
During the show, Wallace went around the table and thanked the producers, the crew and her co-host for her experience – even telling co-host Whoopi Goldberg that, “I’ve fallen in love at first sight with three people: my husband, my son and Whoopi Goldberg“. “You have to ask ABC why”, Goldberg said. Sources who did not wish to be quoted told Deadline that producers decided Wallace was not a good fit, because she did not disagree with the other, more liberal co-hosts as stridently as had been hoped, and was not particularly well-versed on pop celebrities.
The 43-year-old Republican commentator was brought on this season in a bid to reignite flagging ratings alongside Rosie Perez and Rosie O’Donnell, neither of who will be returning next season. To Collins, Wallace said: “You are such a star and I’m so sad I don’t get to sit next to you”.
Prior to “The View“, Wallace served as President George W. Bush’s communications chief and was a senior advisor to Arizona Sen.
Nicolle Wallace expresses gratitude for her time on “The View“. Rosie Perez (r.) also left the show. She joked, “I will never look like this again”.
Bure became the prettiest guest-host in the shop this season when she got into an on-air squabble with new co-host Raven-Symone, over an Oregon bakery’s refusal to make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple. “The View” is already starting to take on more of a “Good Morning America” feel with flash sales (where stylist Stacy London peddles jewelry and knives) as well as taped segments like the one this week where two co-hosts attended “GMA’s” One Direction concert and offered a produced video of their interactions with fans.
