The blasts rocked Yola around 7:48 p.m. local time, just as worshipers were leaving the mosque and others were eating at the restaurant. It was the third bomb attack on the city this year.

Buhari reassured Nigerians that his administration was determined to wipe out Boko Haram in Nigeria and bring all perpetrators of these heinous crimes against humanity to justice.
State Department spokesman John Kirby said the USA condemns the bombings and renews its commitment to work with Nigeria and its neighbors to defeat Boko Haram and to address violent extremism in the region.
Yola had been seen as a relative haven from the bloodshed across the northeast and previous year housed hundreds of thousands who fled their homes as the militants advanced into Adawawa state.
Between them, ISIS and Boko Haram were responsible for 51 percent of the deaths linked to militant groups in 2014. The group was responsible for 7,512 deaths in Nigeria, an increase of 300% from 2013. Boko Haram pledged its allegiance to the Islamic State in March. However, analysts says that Nigeria’s military is not able to hold ground. It said that the number of lives lost to terrorism around the world increased by 80 per cent in 2014, reaching the highest level ever recorded at 32,658 as compared to 18,111 in 2013. According to the index, five countries – Afghanistan, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Syria – accounted for 78% of all terrorism-linked deaths.
On Tuesday (Nov 17), more than 30 people were killed in nearby Yola following a suicide attack at a market.
In a post on his Facebook page, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said: “After the Paris attacks last week, we made the decision to use Safety Check for more tragic events like this going forward”.
