Nigerian Troops Capture Boko Haram Kingpins, 42 Terrorists — Breaking News
Nigerian Troops have arrested top Boko Haram commander, Bulama Modu alongside 43 others.
The women and children were picked up on Tuesday as soldiers cleared what the military said were “terrorist camps” near Banki in Borno state, close to the border with Cameroon.
Our candid advice to Shekau or his ghost; cohorts or impersonators is to toll (sic) the line of their fellow comrades and surrender now as no more hidden place for him or his criminal gang to operate freely any longer, said Abubakar.
Also in May, hundreds of women and children kidnapped by the militants were rescued during a military operation against the group’s Sambisa Forest stronghold.
The terrorists were said to be abandoning their commanders and burying weapons as one Mohammed Modu led troops to where he buried his AK-47 rifle at Jangurori village. “Apart from arms and ammunitions, bows and arrows were recovered from Bulama Modu, the kingpin”.
Gambo was said to have told the troops that the suicide bombers and the IEDs used for the attack on Northern Cameroun were prepared by the trio of Abdulrahaman Alkali, Isa, Ba’ana Hisuba and Alkali Isa Karami, all natives of Dara Jamel.
The Nigerian military advancing along Banki axis of Borno State have cleared two Boko Haram terrorists camps at Jangurori and Bulatori villages, as well as capture of the terrorist king pin. He however noted that the perpetrators have fled to Sumbulum village.
The statement, signed by the acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Usman Sani, added: “It is equally important to state and commend the synergy, intelligence and information sharing between our own forces and those of our neighbouring countries under the Multinational Joint Task Force”.
Earlier Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, the chief of army staff has described the claims of Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau in a new audio that was released on September 20, as mere noise making.
