Niko Kranjcar hails Glasgow Rangers teammates Barton and Hill
KENNY MILLER is relishing the chance to represent Rangers once again in Scottish football’s top flight and has thanked the Light Blue legions for their incredible backing as more than 37,000 season tickets have been sold ahead of today’s general sale.
Kranjcar, 31, arrived in Glasgow on Wednesday to complete a medical following talks in NY with the Rangers boss in May.
The former Croatia worldwide left Warburton hugely impressed last month when they met over an Italian meal in New York, where Kranjcar has been playing for New York Cosmos.
Former Croatian worldwide midfielder Niko Kranjcar is hopeful that he and Rangers can negotiate a deal to play for the Scottish Premier Soccer League side.
Kranjcar scored one goal and assisted on another in six starts over seven matches and 404 minutes during the spring season.
Boss Warburton added: “We are delighted to secure a player of Niko’s undoubted qualities and very much look forward to welcoming him to the club”.
“Such a signing shows our desire to achieve a positive balance between young, hungry players and the undoubted necessity of experience and maturity”.
Meanwhile, with goalkeeper Cammy Bell leaving Rangers by mutual consent to join Dundee United, Warburton is also on the lookout for an experienced goalkeeper and provide competition for Wes Foderingham.
SCOTLAND keeper Matt Gilks is in Glasgow for talks over a move to Rangers.
He would be the second signing Warburton has made from Burnley following the acquisition of Joey Barton. “He will undoubtedly be an important and exciting addition to Mark Warburton’s squad”.
