Nintendo NX entering mass production at the end of Q1 2016
The console – rumoured to be a set-top/handheld hybrid device – is allegedly scheduled to go into mass production in Q1 2016, for shipments in Q2.
A new report seems to indicate that Nintendo will ship 10-12 million NX consoles before the end of 2016.
The new console is estimated to enter mass shipments in the second quarter.
Do you believe that Nintendo will launch the Nintendo NX in 2016?
Meanwhile, market analysts predict Microsoft’s Xbox One will ship about 13 million units in 2016 while Sony’s PlayStation 4 should meet up with 18 million units by next year.
In addition to Foxconn, suppliers such as Foxconn Technology, Macronix, Pixart Imaging, Coxon Precise Industrial, Nishoku Technology, Delta Technology, Lingsen Precision, and Jantech will also supply components for the Nintendo NX. Despite this high expectation, suppliers of the system’s components expect 10-12 million units to ship instead.
According to Digitimes, Foxconn Electronics will be the manufacturer, but of course both Nintendo and Foxconn have refused to comment on this development.
