Nintendo plans to double Switch production to keep up with demand
The world’s most renowned teenage hacker from Italy, Luca Todesco, notably known for his jailbreaking efforts on Apple’s iOS operating system, has reportedly managed to jailbreak the recently released Nintendo flagship gaming console, the Nintendo Switch.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Nintendo originally planned to manufacture only 8 million consoles before the end of March 2018.
Most of the official Nintendo dock uses plastic to house the main console, and there is only a small box located at the back which houses the electrical components. The mobile unit with display rest in a Nintendo Switch console connected to your TV.
The Nintendo Switch is now available for purchase, and we’ll keep you updated as more info comes our way. This Switch port includes both of the game’s expansions, Afterbirth and Afterbirth+, which greatly expanded the original game by featuring a whole host of new items, monsters, endings and more. High enough numbers will motivate third-party developers to build games for the console in addition to (or instead of) other platforms like the PS4 and Xbox One. That amounts to around 1.3 million units and that is not counting the ones made on the Wii U console.
Online retailer 365Games have also now sold out of the Nintendo Switch Grey version.
Nintendo is trying to address its Switch availability problems, according to a new report. The Wii U, due to its name and a strangely cryptic advertising campaign, was largely ignored by non-hardcore gamers because they were simply confused about what the console was. New drivers such as King Boo, Dry Bones, Bowser Jr. and “Splatoon” characters Inkling Boy and Inkling Girl have also been added to the game.
KitGuru Says: I was lucky and managed to grab one of the last Nintendo Switch consoles from NIntendo’s United Kingdom store on launch weekend.
Additionally, since we know that it’s a Tegra X1, we now know that the manufacturer is Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (NYSE:TSM) and that it is built using TSMC’s 20-nanometer technology (so the better the Switch does, TSMC should be set to benefit).
