Nintendo’s New Rewards Program Coming March, New Details Revealed
Additionally, Nintendo announced on Wednesday that smartphone owners will be able to pre-register for its Miitomo app beginning on February 17th by signing up for the new Nintendo Account service. A special Miitomo bonus will be offered to anyone that creates a Nintendo Account between 17th February and Miitomo’s launch in March.
The game, Miitomo, is more of a communications app, allowing players to “engage” with each other by answering light-hearted questions and having their Miis – Nintendo’s super-deformed avatars, introduced on the Wii – visit.
Launching alongside the app in March is the new My Nintendo rewards program which will connect with Miitomo.
Many users were miffed towards the end of the Club Nintendo program, as Nintendo drastically cut back on the physical rewards for points.
Nintendo plans to launch five mobile games in total before 2017, in association with developer DeNA. Users will be able to purchase extras for their Mii character through Miitomo, reportedly. Nintendo plans to add further features like friend management, cloud data services, options for when you visit a brick-and-mortar store, and more.

To pre-register, users just need to set up a Nintendo Account.
However as Nintendo has pointed out in the past, games released for mobile won’t be ports of existing titles.
Nintendo’s first title Miitomo, was a bit of a let down as we were salivating at the idea of one of Nintendo’s triple-A characters, gracing our smartphone screens. Gold Points are what you get simply for buying games, and Nintendo said they could be used for “discounts on games and software”.
Of course, this year all eyes are on Nintendo as they’re not only diving head first into the mobile space, but also have a new game device under wraps, now known as Codename NX.
Nearly a year later Nintendo has released information about its first mobile app, a social interaction platform called Miitomo.
