Nintendo still bringing Devil’s Third to Wii U. Details coming up Soon.
The report of Devil’s Third being cancelled in North America comes from Unseen64, an online archive for cancelled video games. This does not affect the game’s European Release.
Ever since it was announced at last E3 that Nintendo had rescued Devil’s Third, much like they had Bayonetta 2, and that the game would be coming exclusively to Wii U, there has been a lot of skepticism about the title.
I’m still not convinced of Devil’s Third’s quality, though. This is indeed is the case for Devil’s Third in other parts of the world, or so we thought. But apparently there’s no bad blood between them, as Valhalla Game Studio has supposedly found another publishing partner already. The Devil’s Third made some interesting headlines when its creator chose to release the game as a Nintendo exclusive, which was an intriguing concept due to the console’s low marketing power.
“The game is just shocking in its incredibly poor production values, and above all is not even fun to play”, says one of Robertson’s sources. In the meantime, the game has a different publisher in Europe, and its full speed ahead for a release on August 28th, with a press embargo ending on July 15th. While Valhalla is free to find another publisher, it may be a struggle given the game’s poor reception so far.
