Nintendo Switch breaks USA sales records for Nintendo
Nintendo Switch has been out for a few days but its launch has proven to be one of the weakest when it comes to the reliability of the hardware. Likewise, we recently reported of one gamer who found his Nintendo Switch completely died on him with a blue screen of death after playing the game for a mere hour.
It is one thing to beat out the Wii for a 2-day record, but another thing entirely for Zelda to become the best-selling Nintendo title ever.
Users of the Nintendo Switch, the fastest selling games console in the company’s history, have complained of dead or stuck pixels on the Switch’s display.
There’s now no official comment from Nintendo on a recall just yet – though as they just pulled it from their store I would expect it to happen soon. Fils-Aime didn’t disclose exactly how many units the game sold, but it did outsell Super Mario 64 on the Nintendo 64. Nintendo has addressed these Joy-Con connectivity issues, suggesting interference from other wireless devices such as mobile phones and even aquariums as possible causes.
While the original Wii sold more than 100m units worldwide, the Wii U has yet to sell 13.5m. The Wii U has only sold 13.56 million units to date, according to Nintendo’s own numbers.
The JoyCon controllers on the Nintendo Switch can presently be paired with a desktop or a Mac and even with an Android device, using Bluetooth.
Of course, before you start rearranging your gaming space or flushing beloved fish down the toilet, check to make sure your Switch is fully updated and your Joy-Cons are charged.
