Nintendo Switch Can Access Other Regions’ EShops

This console should have renewed the importance of Nintendo – as a company – and their products, introducing innovative features.

Nintendo was focusing on the Wii U, a halfway step between the motion-focused and successful Wii and the Nintendo Switch that we have today.

Back in January, Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aime said that the Nintendo Switch would not use Friend Codes for adding friends.

You can download demos, like Puyo Puyo Tetris, from other regions when the Switch launches, though. Pick a profile tied to a Japanese Nintendo Account and you’ll get the Japanese store. The rep also clarified that this will happen via those individuals showing as “friend candidates” to whom Switch owners can easily send friend requests. But this is still annoying and disappointing, and makes it clear that full online parity with the competition is still not something Nintendo is looking at.

The launch is Nintendo’s first new console since the Wii U was released in 2012 and has widely received positive reviews ahead of its debut.

Nintendo Account allows you to create an account with an email address. Hopefully that means you can matchmake with folks, have a good time playing with them and add them.
