Nintendo teases surprises and twists for Zelda Wii U
Aonuma first acknowledged complaints that a few players had concerning the open world of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and how they were “looking for a bigger open world”. Having said that, Aonuma did say that it is not impossible that there may be a 30th anniversary concert next year and he hopes to give something everyone can look forward to next year.
Although Aonuma and Nintendo are combing feedback from fans and using it to help build the foundation for Zelda Wii U, not all of it will make it in the final release. Instead, the studio would rather take a suggestion and then interpret that into a way the player wouldn’t expect. “However, as we are trying to complete the new Zelda as fast as possible, that is all that is on our minds”, the game producer shared.
There are a lot of questions surrounding The Legend of Zelda Wii U at this point, especially on if we may see a dual release akin to Twilight Princess.
If there’s one thing fans have always loved discussing it’s the complex chronology of Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda franchise. It is confirmed for a Wii U release, and rumored to be coming to the NX system as well.
Signs continue to hint that Nintendo is planning something unexpected however as a few months ago The Legend of Zelda for Wii U no longer featured 2016 next to it’s name on an investors report replaced by TBD, or To Be Decided.
What do you think Nintendo is planning with this open world?
Zelda Maker, an editor tool made by Justin Sink that lets you similarly create your own The Legend of Zelda levels, certainly makes a strong case for giving the adventure series starring Link the Maker treatment.
