Nintendo to release new mini NES complete with 30 classic games
Meanwhile, the head of the developer behind Nintendo’s Pokémon Go said he wants to launch the smash-hit mobile game in roughly 200 countries and regions “relatively soon” and is working on bolstering server capacity for the wider rollout. No, it wasn’t the NX, it was the NES Mini – a miniature version of the classic NES with 30 games included.
Unfortunately, the Japanese multinational consumer electronics and software company has also announced that the console will not be able to connect to the internet and could not be loaded with additional games.
The new system will feature the original controllers, an HDMI connection and classic games like “Super Mario Bros.”, “The Legend of Zelda” and “Excitebike“, just to name a few. A United Kingdom price has not been confirmed as Nintendo does not announce United Kingdom pricing.
Below is the complete list of games for Nintendo NES. That’s it, and the USB port can’t be used for anything other than to power the console.
Kotaku later revealed that the mini-NES can not connect to the Internet and there are no means to use an external storage device like a microSD card to expand its memories or add games.
In addition, Nintendo also noted that since the device does not support any physical media, the device’s cartridge slot is non-functional as well. It looks exactly what we expected it to look close up. At a retail price of $59.99, it will be available November 11. If you were hoping for a particular title to be added to the mini console, then you’re out of luck. Sadly, this means you won’t be downloading Virtual Console games either (which would have been an awesome trick, but will be reserved for the actual home consoles for now).
Nintendo has been developing games for the Nintendo NX for quite some time and it is now clear that “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” is just the beginning. A second controller is optional for purchase.
