Nisar concerned about Pakistani expats after Paris attacks
During a meeting on Tuesday, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar directed Pakistani diplomatic missions in Europe to demand proof from host governments that wanted to deport Pakistanis on terror charges, a statement said.
Nisar said his ministry with the help of foreign ministry and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) will soon formulate a policy under which all overseas Pakistanis would be assisted in case of any unlawful action against them. He said machine-readable passports will be issued from forty two cities by next month.
The minister said government has made the ECL very open and transparent.
The meeting decided that INGOs which did not get themselves registered with the ministry within given deadline will be told to stop work in the country and visas of their employees will also be cancelled.
The 2010 agreement that Pakistan said it had suspended aimed to facilitate the return of Pakistani illegal immigrants and other nationals who had transited through Pakistan before arriving in the EU. The decision to formulate SOPs for deportees was taken after the interior minister announced the suspension of a re-admission agreement with European countries. Nisar further said that he would also not approve of playing cricket with India.
