Nisar takes notice of issuance of immigration to blacklisted US citizen
Mathew, US citizen landed at Benazir International Airport after entering wrong credentials on landing card and was shifted to immigration cell by the agency.
Pakistani officials say an American citizen who previously was deported from Pakistan and blacklisted years ago has been arrested upon returning to the country.
Barrett was deported and blacklisted in 2011 after being found in the area of a sensitive installation, Interior Ministry spokesman said.
According to the statement, Barrett managed to leave the airport after successfully clearing immigration.

Barrett was picked up by FIA and police officials in a joint raid on a guest house in the capital. Nisar instructed his ministry’s officials to find out whether Barret’s entry in the country, despite being blacklisted, was because of mere negligence or is there anything more to the case. The team, which will be headed by Superintendent of Police (Investigation) retired Captain Mohammad Ilyas, will consist of officers from the Inter-Services Intelligence, Intelligence Bureau and FIA.
