Nissan Armada is a facelifted Patrol
The SUV fits up to eight passengers and runs on a new V8 engine that makes 390 horsepower. The new transmission replaces a five-speed which will help fuel economy, according to Nissan. The Platinum get a sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, rear DVD entertainment with two 7.0-inch screens, and a suite of safety features that includes with forward collision warning, backup collision intervention, and an Around View Monitor with moving object detection. “Library level” interior noise levels (at idle) are achieved through the use of acoustic glass on the windshield and the front side windows, as well as through expanded use (versus the previous generation) of sound absorption materials. The latest generation was unveiled today on the eve of the 2016 Chicago Auto Show. “As customers have changed over the years, there’s more of a focus on the refinement, and on ride comfort and handling”, commented Nissan North America director of product planning for trucks and SUVs Richard Miller.
The 2017 Armada will be offered in three trim levels (SV, SL and Platinum) and will be offered in 2WD and 4WD forms. Its redesign comes on the heels of Nissan’s redesigned Pathfinder, Murano and Rogue, which have all been launched over the past three years.
They include Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Distance Control Alert (DCA), Lane Departure Warning and Prevention (LDW & LDP), and Blind Spot Warning and Intervention (BSW & BSI). The tracks used on the Winter Warrior concepts here measure 1,220 mm long, 762 mm tall and 381 mm wide, and feature a custom matte-black finish frames.
