Nissan goes slightly insane, attaches snow tracks to a Rogue crossover
Each track measures 30 x 48 x 15 in (H x L x W, 76 x 122 x 38 cm) and helps give the crossover 23 inches (58 cm) of ground clearance.
Take a look at the insane Nissan Rogue Warrior tackle the slopes in the video below.
“Nissan has a well-rounded suite of all-wheel drive crossover vehicles to master the toughest winter roads”, said Joni Paiva, President of Nissan Canada.
In addition to providing excellent fuel economy, Nissan’s advanced Xtronic transmission demonstrates its full potential on the Rogue Warrior, and is well-matched to the snow track system. The Warrior uses a Dominator track system, custom-installed by Motorsports in Action.
While it hasn’t attracted a huge range of bold production and concept cars like NAIAS, Nissan has debuted a very special vehicle at the show, dubbed the Rogue Warrior Concept.
Unfortunately, Nissan doesn’t have any plans to show the Rogue Warrior in the US, since it was created by Nissan’s Canadian operation, according to Autoblog. Suspension adjustments were made and the body was modified for the tracks to fit, but otherwise, the Rogue is stock.
That doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy some Rogue Warrior action, though.
The Rogue Warrior will be driven by 2015 Micra Cup champion Olivier Bédard who remarked “I can honestly say I never expected to have so much fun behind the wheel of a crossover!”
Named the “Rogue Warrior”, Nissan’s number one-selling product in Canada, has been transformed into an extreme prototype. Its deep treads bite into snow and sleet easily, allowing the Rogue Warrior to scale 45-degree grades, drive up to 62 miles per hour, and send groups of skiers scampering into the woods.
