Nissan Gripz Crossover Concept Teased Again
Though we think the more likely speculation is that the Nissan Z lineup could grow to feature a crossover spin-off, similar to what Audi’s doing with the TT lineup.
Check back for live photos and information on the new Nissan Gripz Crossover Concept live from the Frankfurt Motor Show, starting on Tuesday, September 15.
Alternatively, it could hint at the look of the next-generation of Nissan’s strong-selling Juke.
Fast glimpses of a V6 engine mean the Gripz will well and truly outpace the compact Juke.
Nissan credits “the sleek two-wheel world of road cycling” as partial insipation for the concept, but rest assured, the concept has four wheels and definitely is not pedal-powered.
Nissan says that the concept’s styling has been inspired by that of the 240Z desert racers – and fashionable use of the letter “Z” in the car’s name further references Nissan’s iconic sports vehicle, lending weight to rumours the crossover previews a new direction for the firm’s Z sports auto line. The “V-motion” design theme Nissan debuted on the latest Murano and Maxima models is exaggerated for Gripz duty, and the thin, boomerang-shaped headlights echo those on a rash of modern Nissans. TMR will bring you all the details as they come to hand.
